Rob Currey is a seasoned professional with business expertise focused on the intersection of entrepreneurship, energy and resource use, and environmental progress. Rob’s experience spans corporate development at a multi-national company, private equity investing, renewable-energy project development, and corporate strategy.
Rob will join BCR Nuterra from ABB, Inc., a global manufacturer in the field of power grids and industrial automation. Rob worked to help ABB grow in The Americas region by pursuing initiatives to grow from the inside out (i.e., organic growth), and to evaluate opportunities to grow via purchasing other companies (i.e., via M&A activities). Rob’s role at ABB was to work constantly -- across multiple different business units -- to optimize how ABB’s offerings could create value for customers today, and to plan for what ABB could do to capitalize on future trends related to its product lines.
Rob is a 2012 graduate of Duke University’s graduate school – where he received MBA and Masters of Environmental Management degrees. Rob pursued his undergraduate studies at Princeton where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Engineering, and where he played varsity football.
Most importantly, Rob is a family man: a (lucky) husband to his wife Joy, and a (proud) father to his daughter June Louise (4) and son Mac (3). He is also very active with charitable causes in the community, through his former role as the President of ABB’s charitable foundation, and his ongoing role on the Board of Directors of The CORRAL Riding academy, a non-profit organization serving at-risk teenage girls through horseback riding in Cary, NC.
Rob lives in Cary, NC, and is excited to join the BCR family.
